Infrastructure

State of the art IT infrastructure is one of Luxembourg‘s strongest arguments. Our aim is to keep it that way, even in a changing environment. Internet infrastructure has many aspects: fiber optics from the backbone into your living room or office, mobile networks and WIFI, satellite links, the internet exchange or data centers, to name just a few. Digital Luxembourg stands for collaboration. We facilitate regular meetings for players to meet and discuss current needs and work on new opportunities for the ecosystem. Players receive regular updates on the government’s broadband strategy, and newer topics like 5G pilot projects or blockchain developments are on the agenda as well.

Key objectives

  • keep players updated on the government’s ultra high-speed broadband strategy
  • discuss innovative technologies and their potential for the local ecosystem
  • identify new areas of infrastructure development for the country

It’s not so long since the arrival of 4G mobile communications technology brought a quantum leap in online services available on the move, from mobile banking to video streaming. But already telecoms and service providers in Luxembourg and beyond are looking forward to the next evolution of wireless technology: 5th generation mobile networks.
